Welcome to 2017! I can’t wait to see what this new year is going to bring us. I have been a busy bee this past year and I don’t plan on slowing down whatsoever. There’s a bunch of fun projects coming up which I’m excited to share with all of you. Here’s to another amazing year full of travel, meeting new people and some plain old fun!
This week, I’m bringing you my New Year’s Eve makeup and outfit. Or, what I thought was going to be my look for New Year’s Eve. – The theme changed drastically after putting together this combo. Turns out, a little black dress isn’t always a fail proof choice. – Anyways, back to the look!
For makeup I decided to go for a fresh light base and a warm pomegranate eye. The base consisted of a CC cream (L’Oréal Nude Magique CC cream – anti-redness) and color correcting camouflage cream (Catrice – anti-shadow) where it was necessary. I then dotted some concealer (Collection 2000) under my eyes and finished it of with a creamy highlighter (Maybelline Master Strobing Stick – 100) and contour (NYX wonder stick – WS01).
On the eyes I used one of my trusty eyeshadow creams (Maybelline Color Tattoo – Metallic Pomegranate). I concentrated the product on the middle of my lid to really make the glitter pop. It’s not New Year’s Eve for nothing you know! I intensified the color with a warm shimmery eyeshadow (YSL – Couture Variation – 1 NU) on top and deepened the crease with a deep burgundy (H&M – Cocoa Mauve). To finish the look of, I aded my favourite dark liquid lipstick (NYX – Vintage). That stuff isn’t going anywhere!
I kept the outfit pretty simple. I’m not one for wearing dresses, so I have about thee little black dresses I fall back on for these kind of occasions. They never fail me! This one, I have even worn before on NYE. It’s a beautifully structured body hugging black dress with lace sleeves. I love the way the lace and the black fabric flows over and transitions into a beautiful open back. It gives this otherwise basic item a little something extra. Pair it with a pretty clutch and some heels and you’re ready for a ball. Pair it with some sneakers and a jeans jacket and you’re off to a more low-key student party!
That’s it for me this year! I hope you had an amazing New Year’s Eve and I will see you in 2017!
