About a year ago, I had a little freak out when people about my age started to show fine lines. Ever since, I have made it my mission to preserve the face I have been blessed with. This might sound strange since I’m only 21, but it’s never too early to start taking care of your skin. This is how you can be a timeless beauty!

Invest in your skincare, rather than your makeup

Makeup is fun! But it does need a well taken care of suface to actually look good. So, maybe skip buying that seventh eyeshadow palette and take a trip to the skincare isle instead. These are the basic skincare products you should be using on a daily basis: gentle cleanser, moisturiser, eye cream and a serum.

Never go to sleep in your makeup

When you regularly wear makeup, it’s extremely important to give your skin the time to heal. The nighttime is the perfect occasion to do that. Remove your makeup (no makeup wipes!!!), use a soft cleanser and moisturise your face and neck EVERY NIGHT before getting into bed.

Always wear SPF

There is no reason why you shouldn’t be wering SPF all year round. The sun can be just as damaging in the winter as it is in the summer. So, pack on that sunscreen!

Hydrate

I can’t stress this enough. Hydrate! Especially when you’re a dry skin girl like me. It’s super important to drink a lot of water and moisturise your skin in the morning as well as at night.

Soak off eye makeup

Never rub off your eye makeup. The eye area is very delicate. So, take a cotton pad and drench it in makeup remover. Put it on your eye and wait for about a minute before gently taking it off.

Cut back on the sugar

Eating sugar damages the collagen that keeps your skin smooth and firm. Sugar also soaks up moisture, meaning all the hydrating you are doing is being undone.

Be yourself

It isn’t a cliché for nothing, you know. Look at yourself in the mirror and look for you strong features. Mine are my lips and my lashes. Because of this, I like to wear a bold lip and a fine cat eye.
